# Why Decentralized?

**Centralized vs. Decentralized Platforms**:

* **Coexistence and Complementarity**: We acknowledge that centralized and decentralized platforms will coexist and complement each other. Decentralization is not the only path but a valuable alternative in certain domains like EV charging infrastructure.
* **Advantages of Decentralization**: We emphasize the unique benefits of a decentralized model, such as permissionless cooperation across the supply chain, facilitating network and scalability expansion, and solving interconnectivity issues through underlying protocol integration.
* **Technological Timing**: The advent of blockchain technology has made the establishment of a large-scale, cost-effective decentralized charging network feasible, offering a competitive edge over centralized platforms in terms of expansion costs.
